Roadside Assistance In Spartanburg, SC
Dead battery, keys shut in the car, or out of fuel. Red's Wrecker Service comes to you across Spartanburg County and the surrounding Upstate — and most of these calls never need a tow at all. Call and we'll price it before we head out.
What The Job Actually Involves
So you know what to tell us on the phone.
Roadside work is the cheapest call you can make to a wrecker service, and that's the point of it. A jump start gets you moving in ten minutes for a fraction of what a tow costs. A lockout gets your keys back without a broken window. If we get out there and it turns out the battery won't hold or the starter's gone, then it becomes a tow — but we'd rather try the cheap fix first and tell you honestly if it didn't work than load you up straight away.

Common Situations
What we get called out for most, and what helps us most when you ring.
Battery died in a lot
Store parking, work lots, church on a cold Sunday morning. A jump usually does it. If the battery won't hold a charge we'll tell you that rather than let you get stranded again in an hour.
Keys locked inside
Tell us the year, make and model when you call. Modern doors and older doors open differently, and knowing which we're dealing with means we get in without damaging anything.
Ran out of fuel
It happens, usually further from a station than anyone plans for. We bring enough to get you to a pump — tell us whether it takes petrol or diesel.
What Changes The Price
Five things decide what a job costs. Tell us these and we can quote you on the phone.
- Distance How Far It Goes
- Vehicle Car, Truck Or SUV
- Position Where It's Sitting
- Recovery How Hard To Reach
- Time Hour Of The Day
We don't publish flat rates, because a tow from a parking space and a recovery off a wet bank aren't the same job and shouldn't cost the same. What we will do is give you the number before anybody rolls, so there's no argument at the drop-off. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.
Quick Answers
The questions we get asked most about roadside assistance.
How much does roadside assistance cost?
It depends on the job and how far we're travelling to reach you. A jump start in town and a lockout twenty miles out aren't the same call. Tell us where you are and what's happened and we'll price it on the phone. Quotes are free.
Is a jump start cheaper than a tow?
Considerably, and it's usually faster too. That's why we'd rather try the roadside fix first. If the battery won't hold or something else is wrong, we'll tell you honestly and then talk about a tow.
Can you unlock my car without damaging it?
Yes. Tell us the year, make and model when you call — doors open differently depending on the vehicle, and knowing which one we're coming to means we get in cleanly rather than improvising on the spot.
Do I need to be with the vehicle?
Yes, for roadside work somebody has to be there. For a lockout we also need to know the vehicle is yours, so have your ID and the registration handy when we arrive.
What if the jump doesn't fix it?
Then it's something other than a flat battery, and we'll say so rather than leave you to find out a mile down the road. At that point it becomes a tow, and we'll quote that before we hook up.
What are your hours?
We're open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Call (864) 582-2016 during those hours and you'll reach us directly.
